Nostalgically Wimpish

Definite nostalgia!
Yeah. A definitely  weird combo of words - well my life is weird. These holidays have surely been awesome , jobless and interesting as usual. My normal day involves talking, texting, chatting on facebook and e-mailing (it still exists!) friends. I also try to read books , absorb general knowledge/the newspaper and read/write blogs. However the latter activities which are approved by parents don't seem to have the time. When I finally finished day before yesterday's  diary entry ( Yes. I have warned you that I keep a record - so BEHAVE yourself or the history wouldn't forgive you =P ) and sat down to open the year book , my phone ringed its 'ROCK you like a  HURRICANE' and it was another person with another story to talk to.
That's why I think I am going to be grounded - soon.
After so many constant hours of sharing my voice , words and thoughts to SOO many people I can confidently say I have a lot of friends. And a huge variety in that too.
To quote airtel :
( Lyrics From :: )
"Movie Buddy.. Groovie Buddy
Hi Buddy.. Bye Buddy
Joke Buddy.. Poke Buddy
Gana Buddy.. Shaana Buddy
Chaddi Buddy.. Yaar Buddy"
If you ask me , changing school must be made a must! It will make some sad people who have no friends get many. Again , some may opt to think they are content with some close ones. What they are missing is that humans are fundamentally social beings - you may act as though you do not care but your unconscious B| won't forgive you lol
Sometimes when you live in oblivion in your present life for a long time and take a break to go back to the past - you wish you did not.
The other day miss x  met up with her long time back best friend Y. I must say x was having a blonde moment when she believed that things would be the same after all these years. She found out that time had changed them both in myriad ways and that she had run out of words to speak with her . Shocking thing was y was  blind to her friend's obvious discomfort and weird silence and thought that it was the part of her 'new' life. Well how much ever she would like to think that changes makes people completely different from their old self she is wrong and she knows it. We are all a product of our past, present and future.
Irony - x who was always brimming with useless words ( no its not about me guys :P ) found herself speechless with her own best friend - ok ex .
Moral -

  1. It is always not very wise to dig up the past or go back
  2. and to expect your friends/family to remain the same.
I rock! B|
But NO!! My holidays are waaay better and tell me that being in touch with buddies is the most fruitful task in life. So much to catch up about , so much more gossip to share - if I run out of stories he/she will fill me in! and it may always need not be called 'nostalgia' . Why not constantly remain in touch with them at proper breaks so that they are also a part of your present life? It is always fun when your present and past merges and blends into one!! ( Atleast till they stop colliding)
I think enough of abstractness. I was just chatting with some old friends OMG!! Sanjana who NEVER comes online - I think she has come on chat after 3 YEARS - was online today. and guess what? We were catching up about our 6th standard days and on mutual friends and I even invited her to my kolu. So she's not in the archaic category anymore. I was busy arranging my plans for tomorrow with some more friends when HAPPENED.
what happened?? The focus of this whole post - the wimp. Mr.Hrishi Jawahar. 6th standard was and is the best year of my LIFE and one of the important reasons is the guy I sat with in the first row - Hrishi. I hated the idea of sitting with him - I wanted to sit with my gang. 10 minutes in the first day was all I got before the teacher separated me from by bestie and put me on the front row with this small kid. OK I accept I was also short . I still remember the days when I used to peep into his book during biology =P and how he used to get freaked out that we were copying lol
that pretty much defines him :P
Then sir suddenly decided to fly away to Delhi. I swear that I did not believe that he was actually leaving.I even filled his autograph book with comic grace. (The reason for my lack of belief being Myself :P I used to bluff a lot back then and threw a stunt like this in 5th standard to get some sympathy lol ) and when I came back 5 cms taller in 7th standard to show him who's taller - I got a facepalm. He had actually LEFT .
Facebook was not created then and I had other worries like my bestie not being in my class for the first time in 7 years and the other 'serious' issues of a 11 year old. So Heerishi was in the backseat of my memory - but he was still there. I took a solemn oath that if he ever came back I would give him a taste of his own blood. Years rolled , I had almost completely forgotten him , when a girl in our class randomly informed us that she saw Hrishi on the road. I did not believe it obviously - there are a lot of small and kind of fat kids in Chennai who could be mistaken for him. However rumors continue that he moved back here and was studying in St. Michael s which is only a block away from my own school.
I have a really close friend in Michael's and put her in charge of finding him - if he was there. She was a new student by herself there and didn't venture boldly enough to find a guy who was 3 years older than her.
Suddenly she changed schools and my dreams of ever finding that rascal was put on hold.   Happily enough for both of us , she hated her new school and within a week moved back to Michael's =O So now everyone loved her more for coming back and showing that she loved this school more ( or so I comprehend) Finally she got the sense to check her year book to see if he was there , however it wasn't that easy ( Idk why ) and like the Indian government I finally learnt about his presence/existence after a 2 year delay.
I finally learnt the feeling my parents get when they find a college friend of theirs who they find on facebook. I used to think the friend finder was useless until hours ago . It is nice to know that he remembers me after all these years , but thats obvious because I am unforgettable B|
friend finder ftw!
On a more serious note , people who want to find him just type his name and I will be a mutual friend so add him :P Also that loser doesn't have any security setting so you can see all his pictures to know if its really him =)
Every one of you will have a long lost friend . Who is he/she? Temme how you lost them. I may just be the help you need to search them.! =)
 I will Curse you!

I am really sorry to the people who don't care about this post. I just found a long lost friend , if you mock me you may never find yours! Ok don't get angry - I'm not a very perfect person :P my curse may not work!

And to those who expect more from the word 'wimp' . Google defines wimp as

Noun: A weak and cowardly or unadventurous person.Verb: Withdraw from a course of action or a stated position in a way that is seen as feeble or cowardly

and I read this book ' The diary of a wimpy kid: Rodrick Rules'  , I am sure many must already have! and I tell you - its one of the very true , real , laugh out loud books left in this age. So grab it and I am positively sure you can devour it within a day!! <3

Label it as 'random'

help me get it back!
I have been trying to write for a substantial amount of time now and thats my problem. I am writing a post like a history answer - not getting to a point , wasting time , paper , words and patience. Also I am using complex and useless words =| and Smileys x( So relieve me from this hell by accepting the free flowing randomness I am offering .

A lot of break between exams is seen as awesome - it is not. The gap makes us all the more vulnerable to wasting time ,  becoming less bothered and makes us lose interest. How many days can you wait for an exam to get over. May sound dumb but its true - We write exams to get it OVER WITH.
Whatever the institutions say is as close to truth as you are to a friend without facebook - nil.
got to do nothing with the brand x)

Its shivani's b'day tomorrow. I atleast remember it today :P Being involved with exams makes you more isolated than you imagine! I haven't spoken to my 'best friend' in the last 5 weeks. Does that make us bf's? Someone even asked that. DUH. The best thing you get out of separation is the knowledge that you still love them no matter what and that memories are what that keeps you running . Thank you frontal lobe of the cerebrum of the brain xP
As I have had a chance to finally 'miss' my friends :P I have got the cool right to feel like an outsider. Not weird ,  will explain the fun.
1/2 : Shivani are you having a b'day party?
Shiv : Maybe ? (she must be expecting a surprise party I think :P )
1/2 : Am I invited?
Shiv : (After a lot of dead air) STOP acting like an outsider
1/2 : Its fun :P
that's what you get for typing 'evil' in google :P

I now have no doubts on my crazevilness and your understanding of it so I am adding on to that saying I am surely psychologically disorded in SOME way. No not because I used to cut myself for fun xD , not because I study 'psycho' or had a relationship with my history book and threatened to tear it up if I didn't do well * Blackmail!* ( any ways it did get torn....because I studied xO )
Because...(yea , enough emphasis.)
I GET DREAMS. I know I know everyone does get it , I never said everyone is normal :P However what I am informing you is
Our mind is composed of the conscious and unconsciousness. Conscious is that part we are aware of ...but unconscious is more evil . B| It is the one which contains all the masses of info and memories....It has everything we got from conception to old age.
even this seems evil to my eye

Whats my point? Unconscious which can sift through masses of info is also the cause of our dreams . When we are asleep we still are aware of some info (like a knock on the door)  and we are technically just letting the physical systems our 'mental' ones still function and cause the dream.
Now the unconscious is an evil little thing as I said before but like heroes who are thugs in tamil cinemas ,they also care about us. Using their superior knowledge they can forecast some conditions ( no even they can't forecast the weather)  like upcoming breakdowns due to stress , fights with friends or some other disasters which are important to us. THEY ALERT US THROUGH DREAMS ABOUT THESE FORECASTS.Or that's what my books said.

............and ya I am having such dreams. No I am not an expert but I have a rather impressive hypothetico deductive reasoning or thats what I believe.

Now all you have in your minds is 'what sort of dream' ( see ! I have skill :P )
actually not

I am consistently having dreams like I am running away from my old school ( which I already have! ) and fighting it out with my ex-principal :/ ex classmates/ still friends and even the security guy! It is bizarre because random people like my current classmates (who are very important for my immediate functioning ) family members (where did they come from?! ) and even people I normally don't even think about are featuring in 'guest roles' . So the unconscious is working overtime.

The weirdest one must be where I am in a NEW school (Again!) with my 12th standard cousin - he's doing science = yuck , the girl I held tuition for :P ie my STUDENT , and some very random bvm friends. I yell why I am here and find that a 'technical' error has caused me to change schools again! I cannot believe and becoming more insane than normal start murmuring 'CV CV' .  Getting a phone from my student ( I am weak on discipline :P )  and try to type out the number. This is what amazes me - I am intelligent even in my dreams xD I understand that I always 'saved' my friends numbers and didnot mentally remember them. DAMN (the)  technology =| I bravely understand that I am a scared of being new - again. So I start running away from the classroom and into BVM's library corridor to CV's Yoga hall to my bedroom - where I wake up sweating.

odi po!
What my unconscious is trying to tell me - I don't understand. All I know is that CV is the best thing that ever happened to me - accidentally. I am NOT going to a new school again =P Maybe college.

What else? Its HOLIDAYS babe! B| Time to get stoned , wasted ,read books , learn to drive my scooty , shake up some blog posts , re invest on yoga , become fat ( add 'try') prepare for my CLATs and have some bledy FUN <3

Atleast that's what I think. AND yes all those phrases can come in the same sentence , I just showed you =)

                                                                                        Yours , ippadiku
                                                                                  ALL  in ALL mokka
                                                                                             Semi the dandanakka Don xD

Its a war out there xD

Ah! Finally I get to write on my blog  =')  it is not much fun during the exams , where you can't read anything except the text book and where you can't write anything except the economy of India , history of the world and the psychology of the people living on it ( not that bad I would say competing with all the mathematics and drab textbook science)  The only thoughts running through my mind are now how to pass the exams without demeaning my own expectations and the others ....
SO as it is exam times and as its considered unholy to think about anything else and as psychology is coming up ( which makes me entitled to pass judgments and pour free advice in the name of a 'student' ) I have decided to offer some exam 'tips' which are actually obvious and share my failures in the exam room so that at least you children may learn =P ( I will happily continue them and be wary of 'em - another contradiction ;) )
The first exam I wrote this term is history - which I must say is my FAVORITE <3 I would like all the people who write their most favorite/passionate subject to take note.
  1. This is not the only exam you are writing. Specially note it if its your first exam
  2. That means don't waste all your pre exam studying for history/math alone. You have to clear ALL the exams to pass.
  3. Don't get over excited
  4. Don't be over confident.
the inanimate thing I had a relationship with

As you all must know to rock in a history exam you need to block everything else out and literally live with that book - and ground work is surely  needed. There is no application/common sense none whatsoever. You need to study in bulk and not sulk to rule the roost. However the dividends for the hard work is AMAZING. You know with all surety of the questions , no surprises , just deliver. There is no better  feeling on earth than sitting in a history exam and writing the answer - it just flows out , the empires , revolutions , wars , struggles , the people.......I am getting goosebumps :P I refute CV Raman - no dude writing your favorite subject well is better than drinking cold water.

I could have done better - way better in history. The need to do better always improves your performance. Complacency is indeed a deficiency! However unlike me , guys stop writing  the whole bible for just a quote. Bad example - doing the first question for 1 frigging hour and then doing  10 questions in 20 minutes please manage your time! and all the normal ppl =P if  you know one answer very well. Very good! Write it . Not as 1 answer... use the text to cover up all the answer you don't know =P ( it actually works heehee)

When the invigilator is coming to snatch your paper - don't give up. Some cruel ones target the poor ones who write till the end. The best move to be to ignore his/her presence , keep writing furiously , not maintaining eye contact or for that matter ANY contact :P , and turn your body away from them , your head stuffed in your paper , they may scare you that ' I will take you to the principal'  in that case DO NOT REACT. Act deaf - no become deaf and hand the paper as if its currency =P

To the dull/cool ones , trying writing as many alphabets as you can . Do not disturb the sincere cum honest ones , they may squeal on you . Best , try the reliable and solid ones =) who may not always give you the right answer.

Next comes the least favorite exam - for me - economics ( because it has konjam math in it =P ) If you had listened to my above advice and studied for the next exam also you wouldn't be in much trouble - but I will  coz  I study it only a day before. Specially that will be the exam where your teacher would want to fail you for all the torture you put her through..... so you get the picture. Suddenly you will be in a position where you cannot even finish the portions - need to stunt an all nighter forcing you to sleep through your exams.

Points for your least fav exams :
  1. As tough as it may sound , try to like it . At least stand in its shoes - even though it may have some holes in it.
  2. Do not fret.
  3. Learn from the god father 'keep your friends close; enemies closer'
  4. Just try to think what the teacher may be satisfied with in your paper ; sometimes you can never be satisfied with the paper you hate.
  5. Think of the pleasure you will after completing the paper and write the paper xD
Some of us are bad artists - 'us' is predominantly me =P atleast in my class. I have never got full marks in a graph , eager to do well in that , I spent my time sharpening my pencil , marking my angles 'patiently'  and drew straight lines with a scale ( my biggest geometrical achievement till date) so I wasted half an hour doing these and had to do the rest of my statistics section in 20 minutes. Even writing it down makes me shudder. I still feel delusional when I think of that moment , when I knew it would not be possible for me to finish the paper on time - I obviously freaked out. Shivering uncontrollably in the process lost my memory....primary and secondary data which seemed silly to even study became the ultimate quest of my life.

Not very impressive you may think. At that point I was in no state to even think! However for those who are swearing at me for scaring them before their respective exams - be surprised. I pulled it off - yes! I COMPLETED the paper , not all the points as expected. Who cares? My teacher doesn't like people writing to much . In fact it should be under the word limit , well she got the meat cooked the way she likes xD

Moral of the story? Learn from my story is all I can say.

Finally the english exam , which is like calling Pluto a planet =P However sure about your language skills to pull it off , it is advisable that you read the prose. Trust me I wrote this one only yesterday! and coming to the math which my ex classmates are facing tomorrow.........I am sorry I cannot control this 'BWAHAHAHAHA' coming in spite of me =P Losers learn that there is a world outside math . But in a more supportive tone , 'its just application mates , surely our school would have given you guys enough training , just go out there and kill the problems like a don B| '

                                                                                            Signing off
                                                                                        with preach and breach
                                                                                                Samyuktha aka semi

Who are We?

Life is very precious and the fact that we are existing is  itself a very lucky one. For us the human beings who are from the family homindae , domain of Eukarya and kingdom animalia ,phylum chordata ,class of mammalia ,order primates and the genus and species Homo sapiens a lot of luck and ofcourse timing was required.
we needed one indeed

Our identity which is stamped all over the earth - at least the land part of it which is a mere 31%, was  a mere accident as our 10th standard science textbook states. There is no doubt that we and chimpanzees shared a common ancestor and share almost the same type of DNA! It is spectacular that millions of atoms which are dead individually came together  to form us and support our mundane activities and responses which we need not  worry about consciously. Its is even more amazing to think that the earth which was/is so unpredictable with the dynamic earthquakes , volcanoes , tornadoes which we can only measure and not predict  , let us survive for so long with no major catastrophe.

my holy grail xD
We should remember that if during the dinosaur  period if we had been big like now (we meaning mammals)  , almost certainly extinction would have been on the cards , so lets thank ourselves for being insignificant. lol . Wow. You guys must be wondering where I am getting all these facts from xD  - only from the bestseller The short history of nearly everything which is in fact on EVERYTHING and surely the book which changed my life. Forever. I thank Mr.Bill Bryson for that! So what I learnt from this little gem of a book (figuratively not that small :P  ) is that the universe , its component and our mother earth are very huge and breathtaking (literally) creations and the life is the best and the most awe inspiring phenomenon which can take place and that we , with the identity of human beings are goddamn lucky to be existing , let alone researching and discovering.

As I said before human beings , the most intelligent creatures ( or so we think ) in this creation are created by atoms , DNA , cells ....... and everything in science exists in the quantities of trillions , billions and millions except the scientists who are finding it. What I understood from the book is surely an edition in itself however here I am limiting myself to the human aspects of the world ( which is almost covered  in my book lol ) and in the process hope to reveal the true human IDENTITY which is hiding beneath the sheets of civilization. =|

Scientifically speaking human beings have occupied not more than an instant if we compress the earth's life into a day! What differentiates us from a  moss , bacteria is that above the basic instinct to live (which these creatures surely have more than us) is the same thing which killed Julius Caesar - ambition. The urge , feeling that one has to have a purpose in life , like the early neanderthal who made millions of tools - primitive hand axes - maybe just because he thought that it was his life's purpose ....  if you do not have a goal in life and just try to get it over with it... =P you are useless , a pain in the back and a lot else. It is this self created ambition which created boundaries , nations  and eventually the world wars!
Also some thing importantly wrong is the feeling that we are the zenith of creation , infact life is always evolving and it is infact defects in some DNA copying that  makes us feel king. Again , don't under estimate the bacteria , they have occupied the earth from the beginning , it belong to them in that view! and they survive in regions where even the most modern of human technologies cannot reach. Eg. Deep sea heat vents in Marina trench and the frozen ice in Antarctica!! So confusing characteristic advantages with superiority shows our stupidity there!

Be happy with your identity as a human , live your lives to the max but do not shy away from the unmissable fact that every species which existed before us always had an end. Disappointment  shouldn't be an option when  thinking about our inevitable end. In fact the best we can do is stop accelerating our own demise by interfering with the flow of nature . Here I obviously mean global warming , CFC's , lead and all the other nonsense which we are increasing in our atmosphere!
Hate us or love us we are the leading species now and miraculously are endowed with a 'brain' . Our identity is our 6th sense. Let us NOT lose it in the name of superiority and domination. For whatever purpose the universe , solar system  and our earth are created. As far as we know we are the only creatures that can 'appreciate ' whatever has been done,  and have the thirst to learn about the creation and must strive for that till the end.  Here we must also acknowledge that like the biggest boon we are also the biggest bane of the earth. Wherever humans have settled has seen the merciless killing of all the other species.
Are We?
'survival of the fittest ' as it is known is actually acceptable if you ask me to answer.  However for the sake of civilization at least we must avoid the indiscriminate killing of  our kith and kin.  Reading the book I was shocked to find that animals were killed unnecessarily for the 'heck' of it. Just imagine getting hunted down by dinasours for the heck of it! If we are ready to call ourseleves 'superior' we better start behaving so.
From this account which is influenced by the amazing book 'the short history of nearly everything ' I hope that the sheer luck of living as humans is understood and understanding our own greatness and weakness and our responsibilty to our home is also got into your head.  Surely now you know your identity now;'Eukarya animalia chordata mammalian homindae primate homo sapiens sapiens ' an term which should be observed with great pride by the future species after our certain extinction - if our fossils and other evidences are found! =)

                                                                                                                  Yours Humanly
